About Rachael L. Smiley

Rachael Smiley joins FBFK with over a decade of legal experience, including knowledge of all stages of the Chapter 11 reorganization process, such as asset sales, plan confirmation, and post-confirmation plan administration. She has also litigated a wide range of disputes, including contested matters and adversary proceedings, as well as valuation disputes, claim objections, and avoidance actions.

Rachael worked in the Office of Supply Chain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center before joining FBFK, where she negotiated and drafted business agreements on behalf of the university and its hospitals. Rachael also gained valuable insight into the complex and highly specialized financial and procurement systems that support the healthcare industry while she was there.

Rachael was named one of the Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch in Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law (2022).
