Navigating legal matters for your family can take time, patience, and courage. If you live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and need a mediator through a divorce, an advocate when deciding on a child custody agreement, or a protector from an abusive relative, let me be the family law attorney that can help you find a solution to your problem.
Practice areas of Family Law
Family law matters that I have extensive experience with include divorce & annulments, child support & custody, alimony, legal name changes, protection from abuse, and juvenile delinquency & dependency.
Divorce & Annulments
Approaching divorce in an amicable way can have many benefits. It can save you and your spouse time, money, and stress, and may provide more opportunities to spend time with your children. Whether your divorce is fault-based (cases involving adultery, abuse, abandonment, etc.) or no-fault based (a mutual agreement), I will provide you with sound legal guidance and information. Annulments involve terminating a marriage that qualifies as “void” or “voidable.”
Child Support & Spousal Support
Not everyone in Pittsburgh makes the same amount of money as their spouse. In the event of a divorce, support from one spouse to another is often necessary. Child support consists of one parent paying another parent monthly sums so they can adequately take care of the child.
Spousal support occurs when an individual cannot support themselves after relying on the income of their spouse prior to divorce. This often occurs when one spouse works while the other stays at home to take care of any children. It can often be fairly difficult for a stay-at-home parent to enter the workforce, so monthly payments will help offset the financial challenges that one spouse may face now that they are providing for themselves.
