Abril Law was founded by Mr. Abril in 1991 to primarily focus on matters related to general collection litigation and healthcare revenue cycle. Since then, various regional, local, national, and international companies have been represented by the firm in a variety of issues.

Mr. Abril started his journey in the collection arena back in 1977, when he started working with Shafer & Simon, Inc., a firm devoted to collection management that represented several companies in addition to healthcare providers, mainly in South Florida.

At the beginning of this career, Mr. Abril brought hundreds of cases to trial and sharpened his litigation capabilities in the process. While working as a top-tier South Florida firm’s senior trial associate, Mr. Abril had the chance to represent the United States in federally guaranteed loans’ collection, where cases were brought to trial by him under original jurisdiction.

Mr. Abril lectures periodically in areas including managed care litigation and ERISA, collection/collection litigation, matters related to healthcare revenue cycles, and post-judgment remedies.
