Marcus focuses his practice on restructuring and insolvency matters, focusing in particular on bankruptcy, corporate restructuring, workouts and other business-related matters. Marcus represents debtors, buyers and other interested parties in a wide variety of industries, including healthcare (including all types of providers), retail, food and beverage, energy, manufacturing, distribution and franchising.
Marcus regularly represents debtors of corporations and partnerships, as well as trustees of trusts, creditors committees and family offices, and private equity funds and hedge funds in complex restructurings and reorganizations, including in pre-packaged or pre-negotiated transactions. He also has extensive experience litigating complex commercial matters.
Marcus is experienced in representing clients in fraud and business-divorce cases, including as an SEC receiver or as a state-court receiver. Marcus has been involved in numerous high-profile Ponzi schemes and other similar cases.
