About Joni C. Robin
Joni Robin is an award-winning criminal defense attorney who has defended high-profile cases both nationally and locally. Washingtonian Magazine named her one of the top criminal defense lawyers in Washington, D.C. in 2020 and 2017. In 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, and 2016, she was named a Virginia Super Lawyer. She was also named a Best Lawyers in America for criminal defense in 2021, 2020, 2019, and 2018 editions, and she was nominated by her peers as a Northern Virginia Magazine Top Lawyer in Criminal Defense for 2020.
Following law school, Joni worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Reggie B. Walton, now a retired federal judge at the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. Joni began working for the Alexandria Office of Public Defender after her clerkship ended in 2000, and she eventually rose to the position of Senior Assistant Public Defender. Joni taught legal writing as an Adjunct Professor at American University, WCL during the 2004-2005 school year, while still working at the Public Defender's Office. She resigned from the Alexandria Public Defender's Office in 2009 to start her own criminal defense law firm, The Law Office of Joni C. Robin, PLLC.
Over a thousand criminal cases have been successfully defended by Joni. She has handled a diverse range of federal and state cases, including DWI and traffic violations, complex white-collar fraud cases, drug and property crimes, robbery, firearm offenses, child abuse cases, possession of child pornography, sexual assault, and murder.
