About Stephanie A. Bivens
Ms. Bivens has been designated as a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation, which is recognized by the State Bar of Arizona. There are fewer than 600 CELAs in the United States. Ms. Bivens was named a Southwest Super Lawyers in Elder Law in 2019, 2020, and 2021, a distinction awarded to less than 5% of all attorneys and based on professional experience and peer review. She has also been named one of North Valley Magazine's Top Valley Lawyers in estate planning in 2019, 2018, and 2017. Attorney At Law Magazine – Greater Phoenix named her Attorney of the Month.
Ms. Bivens is a nationally recognized lawyer in her field, as well as a frequent speaker and writer. She frequently speaks at community education events and serves on the faculty of continuing legal education events for attorneys and fiduciaries, such as the State Bar of Arizona, Maricopa County Bar Association, Arizona Fiduciary Association, National Guardianship Association, and National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).
Ms. Bivens’ professional memberships include the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), Probate and Trust Section of the State Bar of Arizona, the Mental Health and Elder Law Section of the State Bar of Arizona, the Estate Planning and Probate Section of the Maricopa County Bar Association, the Arizona chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and the Arizona Women Lawyers Association. Ms. Bivens is also a past Chair of the Mental Health and Elder Law Executive Council of the State Bar of Arizona, and former board member of Preferred Senior Referral Specialists in Arizona (PASRS).
Ms. Bivens currently serves on the boards of East Valley Adult Resources and Kappa Alpha Theta – Phoenix Alumnae Chapter, as well as the Arizona Foundation for Women's Professional Advisors Committee.
Ms. Bivens spends her free time with her husband, two adult children, and two chocolate labradors. She likes to travel, hike, and garden. She credits her affinity for seniors, as well as her interest in elder law and serving families, to the close relationships she formed with her grandparents while growing up in Phoenix.
