About James M. Baratta
Jim graduated in the top 5% of his class at Loyola Law School in 1972 and went on to practice law in West Los Angeles and Century City. Then he decided to move his family and his office to Orange County.
Jim became a partner in the firm of Daniels, Baratta & Fine, which was founded by a former Loyola Law School classmate, David C. Grant. David C. Grant and Michael J. Genovese grew up in the same community and began their own firm in 1996. Michael J. Genovese is a partner at the law firm of Grant, Genovese & Baratta. The partners of the firm are highly motivated to work cooperatively with their clients to simplify complex matters. Jim is known for providing clients with personal service that is synonymous with practicing law at his firm. Jim is known for finding innovative solutions to complicated legal issues to allow clients to continue to do what is best for them.

Jim has tried over 100 cases to jury verdicts and resolved more than 40 cases by jury. Jim is a distinguished Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is especially passionate about finding the nuances that can make or break a settlement for his clients. Opposing counsel knows that Jim is not afraid to go to trial if necessary.
